(PAGASA) has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 over 11 areas in Luzon
The areas under TCWS No. 1 include:
- The eastern and central portions of Mainland Cagayan
- Isabela
- Quirino
- The eastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya
- The eastern and southern portions of Apayao
- Kalinga
- The eastern and central portions of Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Aurora
- The eastern portion of Nueva Ecija
- The northern portion of Mainland Quezon, including Polillo Islands
Gener is expected to make landfall over Isabela or Aurora within the next 24 hours and intensify into a tropical storm on Wednesday. Heavy to intense rains are expected over Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora, while moderate to heavy rains are possible over other nearby areas.
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), enhanced by Gener, will also bring heavy to intense rains over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Aklan, Antique, and Negros Occidental. Moderate to heavy rains are expected over other parts of MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.
Strong to gale-force gusts are possible over MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region. Gale warning is in effect over the western and southern seaboards of Southern Luzon, the seaboards of Visayas, and the western, northern, and eastern seaboards of Mindanao. Sea travel is risky for small seacrafts. Moderate to rough seas are expected over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon. Moderate seas are expected over remaining seaboards of the country outside Gale Warning areas.
