Tropical Depression Gener Nears Northern Luzon, Landfall Expected Soon
Manila, Philippines - As of 5 p.m. today, Tropical Depression Gener is located approximately 290 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The depression is steadily moving closer to Northern Luzon, and is expected to make landfall in either Isabela or Aurora by Monday night or early Tuesday morning. Gener is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching up to 70 kilometers per hour. The central pressure of the depression is 996 hectopascals. After making landfall, Gener is projected to emerge over the coastal waters of La Union or Pangasinan late Tuesday morning or afternoon.
